Subject: PROPANE QUESTION-NO GAS AFTER REPLACING TANK
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I recently replaced my propane tank on my 1990 westy with a used tank. The PO stated that the regulator was leaking but the tank was good. My original tank had the regulator replaced and this was working with no problems until the tank rusted through. I replaced the tank and used my almost new regulator for the install. The PO that sent the tank said that it still had propane in it but he would vent it out before shipment. Before installing the tank I opened the valve and found that he forgot to release the propane (yikes!). When I completed all the connections I tested for leaks (none). I initially installed the regulator that came with the tank and did find it to be leaking so used my old regulator. Now when I open the valve I get a very faint whiff of propane but no gas at the stove and of course the fridge is not lighting. Any ideas from listmembers with similar experiences? Does the valve have to be oriented in any particular direction to take in outside air? Thanks for any assistance or advice anyone might share. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
