I recently picked up a Monster 300W inverter for about $20, new. I have very little need for AC power except perhaps to charge a laptop or the boy's PSP. Maybe run a small fan while camping. Anyway, there is a wire that is meant to attach to the head unit - presumably the stereo head unit. The instructions give little detail. I'm guessing that it will power on the inverter when the stereo is turned on? I want to know if this is a necessary part of an inverter install or just some dubious "feature."
