Tom,

You'll need the black plastic instrument cluster housing with the LCD clock in it. I did try to modify my early cluster to mount a Golf/ Jetta clock (same assy), but it didn't look great, it's just not molded right in that spot. All of your other pieces will mount onto the later-style housing, but the flexible printed circuit board doesn't have the power and lights to connect the clock. So now you'll have to get the entire later PC. too and then the connection plug pin-outs are different than your earlier wiring harness. I'm trying to do this project now, combined with a late-style fuseblock upgrade, but it's getting quite complex, and I've been busy lately, so I haven't touched that project in a while. It'd be easier to rig (tapped-in) power and lights seperately than as the original......
