I don't know. I have not yet pulled apart a 2.1L ISV controller. (the pictures on the site are of a 1.9L ISV controller)

I assume there is a high(ish) current transistor that drives the ISV. If the ISV shorts, then it could take out that transistor. This drive transistor modulates the ISV (the buzzing). One of these days I'll put a 'scope on it to see what it does.

Anyone have a 2.1 ISV controller they want to send me for reverse engineering? It doesn't have to work, of course.

(We have 6 or so Vanagons in the local junkyard, but they are either aircooled, or picked completely clean. So, no local source of stuff to reverse engineer)
