Tom, No need for the CD changer. They're a thing of the past. Here's how I use my 40GB iPod click wheel:

I also have XM satellite radio. I have two methods for playing music from the iPod through the original Heidelberg stereo system: 1. Wireless FM transmitter from Griffin iTrip. Just tune your radio to an FM station with static only(87.9). Power up your iPod with FM transmitter and that's it.

2. I can unplug the cassette adapter "plug in" from the audio out port on the XM receiver. I then insert the male plug from the cassette adapter into the headphone jack on my iPod. Works great! This works only if you have an older cassette player in your Vanagon.

I never ever use music CD's any more. I also have an MP3/CD player in my Honda Civic but I never use CD's, I always use either the XM satellite or my iPod. AMAZING!!!

Santa brought me a 4 GB iPod Nano for Christmas. Christmas day I had a little time and copied 20 of my favorite CDs onto it. Later I copied another 10. It's a little over half full. Goodness me.

Feeling kind of bad that the van didn't get anything for Christmas, I'm starting to look at CD decks that can control iPods. Has anybody gotten into these yet? Comments? It sounds like it could be the end of 6-disk changers.
