I have used a I-Trip FM transmitter for my I-pod for several years in the westy & my DC & it works ok, but not as good as an input jack which I don't have on my older Blaupunkt CD player/receivers. I f you are going to get a new receiver, get one w/ the jack, save the $40 for the transmitter unless you like to use your I-pod in rental cars, etc. I-pod sounds really good in the factory Bose system in our A6 even thru the transmitter.
