use the rear window crank spacers from a '91-'93 vw cabriolet. specifically designed for clearing the bigger speaker covers on the above model, and a bolt on deal for the vanagon too. still available at your dealer. includes thicker plastic escucheon, longer screw, and knurled extension which slips over existing knurled gear.
