Subject: I'm about to buy VW LT 4x4 - anyone with exepience with these?

I am in the middle of negotiations on a 1992 Volkswagen LT 45 4x4 Double Cab in Germany. There is about 160.000km on it, front and rear differential locks, five speed, power steering, seating for seven and a straight six 2.4L 102hp Turbo Diesel engine.

I have never driven or really gone over an LT let alone the 4x4 version of these - I'm wondering if there is anyone on the list that can give me a few pointers on the bad things to look out for on these before I send the cash across the pond to make the purchase.

Thanks in advance!

David Marshall
