I know the feeling, Joy. Several years ago, while in Springfield, MA, I broke my left leg and ankle. It was in December. After the visit to the emergency room, I went to the VW dealer and picked up some parts I had ordered the day before and went back to my Vanagon and started to work. When finished, I drove it back to Maine (about 500 miles to my house). Later, and with much snow and ice on the ground, we were leaving the cash register at Wal*Mart and my wife was ahead of me. I was, of course, on crutches. I yelled out loudly, "Please don't leave me again ... it's so hard to walk home on the ice"! You have my sympathies. Mike
