81 ac vanagon, replacing one bad CV with a rebuilt drive axle with the two new CV's already installed. greased up the replacement CV's, went to install the axle on the van and after getting the outer bolts loosely attached - the outer ones won't line up to the holes on the trans. I had initially done the side connected to the trans first but couldnt get the outer ones to line up, so I pulled them all out and just did the outer ones first since they were harder to get at. how in the world do I get the bolts to line up with the holes on the trans if once the outer are connected they are slightly misaligned. not too far off, but too far to get more than one through and the rest dont line up. any suggestions are appreciatted, as the van sits out on ramps right now awaiting my input. thanks, chris |
