I just made a set of rear window curtains for my '84 Westy. The PO must have wanted totally light blocking curtains, because it came with a set of curtains that are made of brown corduroy, which would be OK, except that the side that faces out is another fabric, white with pink and purple polka dots, not exactly to my taste. These homemade curtains also attach using an elastic cord that clips to suction cup hooks the PO mounted using epoxy. Why he didn't just add pockets to use the existing rods, I don't know. I also got MOST of the original curtains as well, which I reinstalled, but the rear hatch panels were missing. Using one of the side panels as a guide, I made curtains for the rear window, using some "Route 66" upholstery fabric I had. It's really not that hard to do, if you have access to a sewing machine, that is. I had never used a sewing machine until I made these curtains, and mine turned out quite well. Now, though, I have rear curtains that don't match the rest, but at least I have something for the back window. I may do a whole set out of the "Route 66" fabric someday, but right now it's just not a priority.
