Chris, Go to a mailing list called "Virtual Vairs" and mention VW buses, and you'll get a flood of emails from Corvair fanatics about how CHEVY invented the minivan with the Greenbriar. I was on this list for a while when I was going to do the Transvair conversion on my '75 Westy. One guy sent me a very lengthy email detailing why he believed the Greenbriar was hands down way better than any VW bus. Never mind that Chevy only sold a mere fraction of the number of VW buses over the years, and the production run of the Greenbriar (and the Corvair itself) was not very long. I emailed him back and asked him why if it was so good, why don't they still make it? Never got a response. I will say this, though, Corvair fanatics are quite loyal and they have a very good nationwide club with an excellent bimonthly magazine.
