In addition, it could also be:

Bad Coolant Sensor Control Relay (#43) Bad Gauge Unit (Internal Workings) Bad Sensor Wires from Probe to Coolant Sensor Relay (open circuit or short)

I have done everything that John Rodgers indicated plus the above except the wiring. It still continues to blink on "Ole Putt".

In a recent pmail discussion with Mark Drillock about me particular situation he wrote:

"The first thing is to pull out the "43" relay entirely. If that stops the blinking problem then the problem is between there and the coolant tank. If the blinking persists the problem is in the dash cluster, dash wiring, or ground."

I haven't done that yet (too much to do, not enough hours in a day).

I'm just ignoring the blasted thing for now, but always checking my tanks regularly. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *See You At Buses By The Bridge XI* ********************************** On 1/8/07, John Rodgers <inua@charter.net> wrote: > > Christopher Gronski wrote: > > Hi All, > > > > What are the various things a blinking coolant light could be > > indicating?
