Interesting about GoWesty. I knew they were working on something, but didn't know it was available. I took a quick look at their web site, and could not find it. Where did you see it?

A "Hot Wire", simplified, is a setup where a heated wire is measured for heat loss. Thus, it duplicates the functions of an AFM with some digital processing.

As to how soon my thing will be ready, well, to be realistic, you'll hear about it soon. But, common availablilty will not be until summer, I'd expect. And, it should cost much less than $675. Wow. My target is $100 or less. Much less if you make it yourself. But, as always no promises!!!

Rebuilt AFMs are available, with prices ranging from $130 to $250 or so.
