Definately a good purchase. If I lived in Alaska, I might purchase the model above mine and get the one that runs a fan (off 6 D batteries) and takes two small propane cans at once and can crank 14k BTUs! You'll love it. Although my 4K/9K non-fan is a good for me in temps in the 30s. (Never used the high setting). I drive with it on, and it forces me to take off my coat in about 15 mins.
