I agree with Terry on this one. I have a Snap On Crud Thug with the rubber wheel, it takes old stickers and the goo off in seconds without hurting the paint. The smaller pinstripe wheels are more cost effective. The wire wheels strip seams and underbody crud perfectly without any fumes. The only solvent I would use is 3812, reducer. Won't hurt the clear coat and buffs away after it dries. Here in NY you have to have to be a body shop to get it, damn inhalants. I think Sherwin Williams makes a product that is similar, called " Sure Wil Clean" or something like that that they sell at local paint stores, works almost as good as 3812. dylan ----- Original Message ---- From: "ctonline@webtv.net" <ctonline@webtv.net> To: JORDANVW@AOL.COM Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com; vanagon@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, January 10, 2007 7:59:59 AM Subject: Re: [vanagon] removing duct tape from paint..ideas? <<on another vehicle i have someone broke the rear glass and the PO duct taped a tarp over the hatch.. how does one get the resitual duct tape gummyness off the paint without harming it?>> Chris, Soak it wit a rag dripping with Mineral Sprits, Goof Off, Goo Gone or a bunch of WD-40. It'll come off--but it'll take awhile for the glue to release. Or pick yourself up a pinstripe removal wheel, chuck it up in your drill and wheel the adhesive off of the paint. It'll come off. ____________ __ |[ ] [ ] [ ]\ | | | | ~~~ ~||-(())---- (())-| Terry-- " Brrrrrr, Pop, Bang, Pow!
