Instead of "any" maybe I should have said "highway" speeds. Is the tire at least rated for 44 psi inflation? If not, than a likely cause of failure can be a rupture after an impact such as a pot hole. A 215/70-14 standard tire would have brought you up to 1554 lbs. base load rating or a 96 load index.
