Thanks, guys! You're all really sweet. I knew I came to the right bunch
for sympathy.
Actually, it doesn't hurt - no pain going on here. Except for where I think
I'm getting really black and blue from trying to walk with crutches!
It's just an incredible PITA!!!! Metaphorically speaking. Trying to go up
and down the stairs with crutches. Trying to move things from one part of
the house to another - and not just bowls of soup! I walked around the
block with my crutches this afternoon, just for practice, and had to stop
and rest a zillion times. And by the time I got home I was all hot and
sweaty from the effort! Sheesh...
Oh, but I forgot to mention - I DID manage to finish painting my house
before this happened! Whew! It looks great, too. Nice and white! :-)
And I know full well that broken feet are trivial. The very generous young
man whom I don't even know who lent me his ladder to paint my house was just
diagnosed with cancer. Judging from his wife, whom I met when returning the
ladder (and who was in a state of shock and told me about his cancer even
tho I didn't know them), I think he'd be in his early thirties. So I am NOT
really complaining at all. Bones heal. I'll be fine in time for everybus.
I'm really fine now, just inconvenienced.
But thanks for all your sympathy, anyway!
Joy
