Dan, Yes, you need to pull the steering wheel. Follow Ken's instructions, they're good. The steering wheel will probably come off easily, but there's a thin, tall black plastic shim on the shaft which you'll need to pull in order to get the stalk switches off. You can use a battery puller or just a gentle touch with a wide flat-head screwdriver. If you've got cruise control, the wires feeding the cruise control switch will likely be zip-tied to the steering column.
