I think we are looking at this age thing from the wrong end. We measure how far we are from birth, with the expectation of some (hopefully) large number of years after that to get through.
How about considering how close to that dreaded "end" you are? At 44, and a diabetic, my number of years may be less - yet ANY of us could be hit by a truck (BIG truck) tomorrow. That means all of us are close to death - closer than we like to realize! I guess I just want to remind everybody that life is short, and we should do what we like, and like what we do. You cannot be too sure of that next day, or at least your presence in it... Dreary philosophy over - for the moment.... |
