To anyone who can help - I'm trying to figure out how to get email sent to my gmail account to automatically download when I hit "send and receive" in Microsoft outlook. I've gone through the "add an email account" menus in outlook, and put in the following things: Type HTTP - should it be POP? I assume not. Email address: hecht.joy@gmail.com - that's my gmail address Username: it automatically filled in the gmail address - should it just be "hecht.joy"? HTTP mail service provider: "other" - the options are "hotmail", "msn", or "other" Server URL: I tried "gmail.com" and I tried "http://mail.google.com" In the "more settings" - "connection" - option I tried with "my LAN" and I tried with "3rd party dialer." Sometimes I dial in on a regular phone line, sometimes I'm on someone else's wifi. If I'm already connected, does it make a difference what I have for this option? In all cases I got this error: Task 'Gmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error (0x80070057) : 'An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart the program.' Can anyone tell me how I should do this?
