In the same spirit, let me say this.
Dan has reported something we also wanted to know. Just think about a case
when you think you are right and can't get your warranty actiavated. That
is how Dan felt like. Frustrated, pissed off, helpless, etc. He reported
it in true help in mind, for us to know and "Use caution". While he vented
some steam too. Us, who are not on the receiving end, can be very
indifferent, don't care attitude. We don't feel his real pain. We did not
loose thousands on that deal. Now, here we also make him feel bad and may
even accuse him trying to cash in on his own fault. Tough to take it again.
His report has given us something to think about. It was an important input
for us, it was a major loss whoever fault it was really. It has also
brought into perspective the fact of long distance warranty in operation.
What would you have done in the same situation? He did not get the expected
communication, as he says.
While we all know how good Bob is with his engines, one has to be guarded
for the unexpected.
Yes, we don't bring all the trouble we go through to this forum, and deal
with them ourselves, this is not something real small. And I'm sure, Bob is
pissed off himself when one of his engine blows.
As an outsider in this, I hope the same won't happen to me. Like the
solders on the battlefield, it is alway the other guy who dies.
Here we all died a little with Dan and Bob.
Zoltan
And I bet, some of you would have driven on with the alternator light on
too.
