-----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Nathaniel Poole Sent: Friday, January 19, 2007 7:53 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Canadian tires I know the subject has been debated endlessly, and yet when I do a search with the above terms, nada. And my brain is fried, besides. But I need some new, good snows before heading up the Coq next week. Local Canucks will know what I'm talking about. Can anyone point me to a source for good available snows that won't break the bank?
Nathaniel, As another post offered, the Nokian, Hakki.... CQ's are great but kinda pricey. I have had a set on my Van for two years now. Run them year around. Continental Vanco's are more reasonable in price and have received some good reviews. I have used Kal-Tire as a source. They have so far, been able to locate whatever tire I asked for.... Crappy-Tire is always an option.... You and I are in Canada so why not shop at crappy-tire.... eh? CIP lists a Korean tire load spec'ed for the Vanagon... not a true snow tire though but the price is right. Whether their Langley Warehouse has any stock... check their web-site. http://www.cip1.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ACC%2DC20%2D6645 Good hunting... and stay safe on the Coq race track into the interior..... 8-) PS.. As Bjorn has suggested, cover the front of you whole Van with 3M clear paint protectorate film... that texas pea-gravel they "sand" the road with is brutal! Phil Z. Campbell River, BC |
