I'm 48, but past the halfway mark to 49. Got my first VW when I was 12 (no joke) it was a '63 Bug convertible advertised in the Washington Post for $50.00 (again, no joke). The woman who had it for sale ended up giving it to me for the cost of her ad in the paper, which as I recall was around $10.00! I bought my first bus in 1980, a '67 Deluxe with a gas heater, this one for $500.00. I've owned more Bugs than I can remember, 3 Ghias, a Type 3 fastback, and 8 buses. My 13 year old daughter (who is more of a VW fanatic than I am) calls the 60's & 70's "lame", until I point out to her that back then I could go to VW dealers lot and see all these beautuiful vehicles BRAND NEW. I was on a VW dealers lot just yesterday, it's not as exciting as it once was. Jeff
