Whatever the real problem is, I find it sad that such simple things can't be resolved more amicably, and a middle ground found. I won't begin to suggest to Bob how to run his business, I just know that whether right or wrong, I find it the best position as a life philosophy is to do whatever you can to work with someone when they are pissed at you. It has nothing to do with fault or blame. Most people can be reasonable. You might make less money on the deal but in the long run what you get is good will and I feel the value of that is priceless.

Some folks will argue to can't run a business that way. Maybe, maybe not, but sowing goodwill whenever possible is not a bad legacy to leave behind when they are shoveling dirt over you.
