You beat me by a couple of months Sam. I'm 72. Owned a Squareback and a 71 Camper previously. Currently have an 83 Westphalia and an 87 Syncro Westphalia that I converted from a standard Syncro the hard way. Chopped the top off of the Syncro and a wrecked Westphalia at the mid point of the window posts and welded the camper top on the Syncro body. Finished conversion last year. Currently making front and rear bumpers and rear tire carriers to finish the job.
