I'm now 55. My first VW van was a '68 panel van that I bought in Capetown, South Africa in 1974. I modified it into a camper and toured southern Africa for 6 weeks. But I still longed for the Westy camper; just couldn't find one for sale at a reasonable price (some things never change). Fast forward about 28 years and I found myself buying an '87 Westy in 2002 that I enjoyed many trips in with my son. I sold it a couple of years ago (sitting idle too much) and have never been quite right since. Finally bought another '87 a few months ago from someone in NY and Dennis Haynes is now getting it road worthy. I can't seem to get these damned vehicles out of my system.

Gerry
