Subject: Swivel seats -- how not to make them wobbly
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Another question regarding swivel seats.

I've got a high mileage 85 westy. The swivel seats are sloppy. Are those plastic bushings what make them not wobble??? anybody know where I can get new ones??

thanks,

tom

I recently posted looking for a swivel seat mechanism. Thanks to this list I already have some leads but I haven't committed yet. Before doing so I would like some advise because I don't know squat about doing this conversion (I can weld and use a hacksaw). When shopping for the mechanism out of other vans do I need to be aware of the year of the van, or would they all fit with about the same amount of effort? Would one out of a '79 or '80 work as well as something newer? I have a 1990 Vanagon.

Thanks, Andy
