Not sure, but if you consider that golf sales totalled 24 million worldwide for the 31 years 74 to Nov 05, it's a big number. The Mk1 Focus(the one that the Zetec comes from) is the only car that ever stole the(yearly) world's best selling car position away from the Golf in 2001, which shocked everybody and is subsequently when VW stole the engineers from ford they needed to design the VW "version" of the Mk1 Ford focus suspension for the MK5 golf. The highest numbers totals are corolla in pole position with 35 million, then Ford F-series pickups 25 million, then golf 24 million, beetle 20 million, and back to Ford with the model T(which I think is the most impressive number) at 16.5 million.. 16.5 million model T's!! Talk about zero to 100 mph. Hey there's another conversion... Put a crankstart 2.9L sidevalve model T engine into a vanagon ha... 20 HP.. But in the model T it still got 30 mpg.

Jim
