WOW!, I've always been amazed at the difference between the type2 list and the Vanagon list! This kind of thread would have gotten several folks banished from type2. Years ago I was booted from type2, had no idea why. I emailed a list admin to ask what was going on, he replied that I had posted a message about a Coleman propane heater! I replied back-So? A lot of us use propane heaters when camping and even when driving. The reply came back "PROPANE HEATERS ARE NOT VW BUSES" and the warning to stay on topic or I'd be booted again (he let me back on). Two weeks later the same admin posted a message about bike racks. I was tempted to send him an email saying "BIKE RACKS ARE NOT VW BUSES, PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC", but I didn't. He is long gone from type2, I'm sure he is now the president of a HOA telling people what colors they paint their mailboxes. Anyway, I don't mind the looseness of the rules here at all! Vanagon content: I went to Lowes this weekend and bought stainless steel screws to replace all the rusted ones on my'84 (and even the ones that haven't rusted yet). Lowes has a pretty good selection of stainless hardware. Jeff
