Subject: Hankook iPike Studded snow tires 15" - 100T!!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

I didn't see these mentioned in the Roadhaus tire review or in the archives but thought I would pass along the info for the benefit of the list. Picked up a set of Hankook iPike studded snow tires for my 15" GoWesty wheels at the local Les Schwab. At first they told me it had a load rating of only 96T but to my surprise the 215/65R/15 has a 100T load rating. This size is described by Hankook as the XL or Xtra Load. After reviewing the Roadhaus tire review it appears this is an adequate load rating. Price was steep at $500 for a set of 4 installed on my wheels. Can't report too much on it's performance but had about 3 days of compact snow and ice here in Tacoma for some testing. Traction has been excellent so far and I'm beginning to enjoy the hum of studs on dry roads. Once I have my tranny rebuilt with a LSD it should be a pretty snow worthy vehicle. Sure is nice to prepare for a day of backcountry skiing in the warmth and comfort of my van.
