I'm 33. I got my first VW at the age of 14. My father gave me the choice of a '79 Rabbit or a Mustang of similar vintage. I guess that was one of those life changing decisions. I've been a VW owner ever since. At the time he owned an auto shop. The rabbit was wrecked. He gave me the car and access to the shop and tools. I learned a lot rebuilding it with him. I've still got the Rabbit, plus a Jetta and a Vanagon. I've driven various Rabbits, Golfs, Vanagons, and a Scirocco.

The intersting thng is that I've passed along this VW sickness to my kids. My 9 year old has a pretty nice collection of split window bus toy cars. Last year he even talked me into helping him build a Vanagon for the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. (It was really slow).
