Thanks, everyone who was sympathetic about my foot, or sent funny emails
about hangnails, bad hair days, etc. etc. etc.  All that stuff actually does
help, especially the funny emails.

I finally got to the orthopod, who looked at my x-rays and rendered the best
possible verdict - no crutches, no cast, just an orthopedic shoe and I can
walk on it even though it is broken.  No ice skating for a while, no biking
for the present (though he said in a few weeks that should be okay), but I
can swim, I can walk, I can take showers without keeping my foot dry
(whew!), and soon I'll even try driving Matilda!  (vanagon content...)

YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!!!
