Thanks, everyone who sent me this info. Their instructions are clear and straightforward.

I don't use my gmail account as a rule. However I am having trouble with some organizations whose firewalls seem to block email from my alum.mit.edu forwarding thing. Mostly forwarding works very well, so I don't want to change it. However for those folks, until they can get my email listed as acceptable in their system I want to be able to send email from gmail. Hopefully they will use the reply-to that my email will give them, and answer to my alum address - but just in case, I want to make sure that if anyone emails me at gmail it will get downloaded.

Microsoft Outlook is just as good at gmail at sorting out listservs or anything else I want it to sort. And I don't want to save my emails on the web - I want them on my computer.

Joy
