Well, I'm not officially a Vanagon owner, but I'll chime in as I may be picking up an '85 Westy in need of a motor in the spring. I've always wanted a Westy and am a bit excited about the possibility of getting one. Still trying to read up on these beasts.

I'm 32, The only VW I've owned was an '87 GTi (8 valve) who's career was cut short in an accident with a little over 199,000 miles on her. I realy was looking forward to hitting 200K. I loved that car, but my wife disliked it due to 'costs of repairs'. Funny as she realy wanted a Ghia, and loves the MGB, which are probably just as expensive to run. I've owned a Mustang, Galaxie 500, MGB, Caprice Classic, GMC Truck, Jeep Cherokee, Honda, Subaru, as well as a number of vintage motorcycles, so I'm all over the board on vehicles.

Eric
