I got em back in Dec I have covered the hot springs curcuit 1st week jan and
the falling I found
was
a) realy deep snow like you get in ski parking lot wheh its not plowed even
then I did not get stuck
    I just had to take run at the uphill exit from the lot
b) straight ice
