In other words, and I see now that I failed to make this point, you need to replace all of the hoses, from the tank back- and while you're at it, take a good long look at the fitting at the firewall that connects the hoses from the tank to the hoses in the engine compartment. It often gets brittle and is a common failure point. Some people replace it with a new plastic part, a different part (a metal union or what-have-you), and some put a grommet in the hole and run the hose through it intact. I'd vote for one of the latter two- probably the last one.
