I have two broken control cables on subject system. Access to this area is limited, to say the least. So far, I have only tried working on it through the ash tray hole, the radio hole and I've also removed the heater control fascia panel as well (breaking several levers, etc in the process). I have been told that the big plastic housing that covers that whole area (below the radio) pulls off. But I have pulled on it pretty hard and it did not budge. Before I break MORE plastic, can anyone tell me if this does indeed just pull off or is there a trick to it? Also, if I succeed in removing it, will I have better access to the cables and the actuators that they attach to? Thanks for any comments/suggestions. Mike V.
