> Anything too rough for a 2WD Vanagon?
Geza: Don't know about Thorndike and Mahogany, but when I was in DV in January '00, I camped one night at Mesquite Spgs, and was the only one there. The water/toilets were working, but I think there was no light in the toilets. No charge, either. Also, I drove my 2wd air-cooled in past Teakettle Jct to Racetrack Valley and had a great night and day with no one else there. I drove the third leg from Teakettle Jct into Hidden Valley and thought it would be a wonderful place to spend a couple of days next time. http://jones.colorado.edu/jones/DV So you can do a lot with 2wd.
