From Alice (wife) me and our dog, a big Thanks to the organizers of Buses by the Bridge. We have owned our 1990 Westy for about 4 years but this is the first time we have been at a bus gathering. We enjoyed ourselves, but you guys have cold weather down there. We came all the way from warm Vancouver Island (well sort of warm) to really freezing cold nights and frigid winds. Seeing all those splitties and other buses from the 50's to the 70's and the work involved in keeping them going is very impressive. Our 1990 is a whole generation newer and needs TLC, or it won't go. We travelled about 6000 km this trip, with a few problems but arrived home in one piece and on time. I replaced a CV joint in Yuma, developed a big hole in the exhaust pipe and had a slow leak in one tire. That CV joint that I replaced was a refurbished one from NAPA less then 2 years ago. I have now replaced 2 and a third one is getting noisy. The lesson is: buy new! We may not get to another BBB gathering soon, but based on our experience there we will be going to other VW gatherings in the future. Thanks again

Ed
