I own an 88 GL Vanagon 2.1 WBX.  I need to know if

all late model Vanagon's (1986-1991) use the engine oil cooler

which mounts to the cylinder block and oil filter screws on

to the oil cooler.

I don't have an oil cooler on my 88.

Is the oil cooler only used on air cooled models??
