As I said Chuck, I was pleasantly surprised that when I mounted that compass it required no adjustment. I've had the experience with other small compasses in automobiles where turning on the lights or the spinning of the speedometer would throw the compass way off or just driving down the road the compass would pick up vibrations and spind like a top. But this one has been virtually perfect in that location. I had tried a small flux gate compass in my '85 Westy at one time and couldn't get it to work, at all. After installing the Sunnto I went to a large open parking lot (no power lines above) to swing it and it needed no adjustment. I'd made sure the adjusters were set to zero before installing. I picked that compass because of the construction and mounting options and because it was top quality. Also I could get it at cost :) Someday I'll write up the adventures I and a couple of coworkers had in the '60s installing and running aircraft gyro compasses in out cars, mine a '62 Plymouth Valiant. True story and actually got it to work.
