Hi volks,

This also carries through into the prepress industry. (Which funds my VW habit ) . Magenta ink is far and away more expensive to buy than Cyan, Yellow, or Black. Most commercial printers (In the very busy Southern Ontario market, at least) tend to run with a #1 grade of C, Y & K (Black), but use a #2 grade of Magenta to reduce costs.

I expect that the grade of pigment in barn paint is not quite as complex to manufacture. The viewing distance being a couple orders of magnitudes larger might be a contributing factor here...
