"What we assume, makes us look bad." - Boston Bob - Proper Flywheel installation video - Jan '07

I know Brady really well, we met in Tokyo in 97. Let me tell you this - (1) He's not a moron, Fuc##ng or otherwise (2) Unfortunately, many of these guys DO INDEED pull sidearms and much worse unprovoked. Some guys in our district were protecting drugs for dealers and ran a hooker bar for *uniformed* officers. One of those guys was threatening to kill the kids of other officers involved if they didn't keep quiet... We get harassed on Sunday if we're in the shop by the cop buddy of the guy across the street because he hates our landlord. Luckily he just harasses from his cruiser because he's so overweight he has difficulty getting in and out of the crown vic, which has huge doors and isn't very low. My favorite call I ever made to the cops was greeted with "District 18, disgruntled officer Pete speaking, what's your issue", I said "What did you just say? Did you just say disgruntled officer Pete? Why are you disgruntled man?" And he said "you got an issue or what!?", which is funny cause I was wondering the exact same thing. It's unfortunate that not all cops are like the ones you're talking about. Most importantly Brady isn't a liar, so you can ask him questions and he'll provide you an honest answer. We haven't all shared the same experiences, so you can only be making assumptions.

See there is vanagon related content in this reply,

Jim

I read this forum from time to time and sometimes I just laugh my ass off at some of the social and political crap some of some of you spew. As a life long gun owner (I received my first rifle on my first Christmas when I was but 6 months old) I just have to wonder where some of you live and just exactly what goes through your respective minds with some of the things that are said. Let me clue you in on a secret - If you have been pulled over 157 times (1) you Are A Fuc##ng MORON!!!!! (2) If a police officer drew his sidearm - YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG - NOT THE OFFICER!!!!! These guys do NOT draw on someone unless provoked! I am calling you an outright liar..... You are full of CRAP if you say a cop put a loaded gun to your head for just speeding....and if he did what else did you do????? My father was a true old school salesman. From the early fifties to the late 70's he drove almost 200,000 miles a year. He always carried a handgun (and still does) and to my knowledge the only time he ever needed to unholster it was in Toronto after he had long retired in 2001. There is a reason that the worst crime rates are in large urban cities. There are larger populations and almost without exception they also have the most restrictive gun laws. It is illegal to own a handgun (Or a long gun for that matter) in the District of Columba, yet they are consistently in the top three in murder rates. Why? Because the only ones who now have the guns are the ones who mean to do you harm. And as someone who has in-laws that are Canadian nationals, Canadians are without a doubt THE most Racist people I have ever met - without exception. But at least they are consistent - they hate Everybody.

As a business owner that deals with a fair amount of cash, I carry a sidearm always. And have never needed it to date. I have been driving for almost 40 years and can count the number of times I have been pulled over on two hands. I think that some of you need to rethink what you do and how it may effect others around you.
