Hi All,

Yep it was the seal between the oil cooler and the engine! Kudos to all on the list who responded. Bob Donalds is sending me a new seal and a tool to remove the oil cooler w/o removing the coolant lines. A couple of you mentioned tightening the nut that holds the oil cooler assembly.

So I removed the oil filter, and GASP!! the nut holding the whole thing was less than finger tight. Do you ever get the feeling that sometimes your car is trying to tell you something before its too late?? Anywho, I tightened up the nut and put the oil filter back on and fired the van up. No leak! So its ok for now...but as soon as the oil seal comes in and the weather warms up, I'll replace the filter.

For now, the Westys good to go for the short term...especially tomorrow. We were going to take our two huskies to run in their first sled dog race...and I wasn't really up to taking two cars (one to haul the dogs..the other to haul wife and kid)! So we're happy, the huskies are happy and the Westy is happy!!

Ric
