'90 Westy, 178K miles. Some years back, changed the distributor cap and it was a Beru with a metal cover, which had a braided ground strap which connected to a clip on the dist. body. Next one was Bosch with a black plastic cover and a metal insert where one of the hold-down clips would contact it and provide ground. The new one, from TBD (and to their credit, they did call and verify the VIN. Gets confusing when you are ordering for an '88 and a '90.) is Bosch and has no cover. Am I supposed to re-use the cover? Don't know if it will fit, the caps are slightly different sizes. I believe the covers are for radio interference suppression. Correct? Dazed and confused, but hoping to be distributed in a few days.
