As has been discussed here numerous times, the color of the coolant is not necessarily a correct indicator of its contents. For several years, the house brand coolant from Advanced Auto was both green and phosphate free. It was what I used. Other variant examples have been noted also.
Well, that's very interesting. I've received a few responses telling me the same thing. HOWEVER, up here in the great nation of CANADA we have no green coolant that is phosphate free. Not in the Ottawa area anyways. Now, I'll wait and see how many tell me I'm wrong on this too.........The Prestone Long Life we have here is the Dex Cool compatible stuff in the silver jug. We do not have the Prestone Extended Life in the yellow jug nor any other types of green coloured coolant that is phosphate free.
