Volks, This is the first really cold day of the winter here in my area in Alabama, and at 7:00 am when trying to start the van, the starter plays stone cold dead. Plenty of electical juice, but it doesn't engage, click, growl, or otherwise. No prior indications of starter difficulty. Just dead this morning. Could this really be the starter, or a sneak attack by the ignition switch in cold weather brought on by ignition switch wear combined with key wear combined with cold to change worn clearances just enough to break circuit? Or is the starter really dead. BTW, battery terminals are clean, good metal to metal contact. Thanks, John Rodgers 88 GL Driver Chelsea, AL |
