Having visited the Hill farm on several occasions over the last few
years, I was shocked to find him on a TV segment last fall as part of
a hospice piece. I had no idea of his condition at the time and
truly hope his family was prepared for the last hours. I can only
hope that someday I'll be re-united with Chuck in heaven.
Thanks to Bud for leaving a phone message at my house and letting me
know about Chuck's passing. For those of you in the
neighborhood. Bud said the funeral will be at St. Patrick's at 7th
and Main in Cedar Falls Tuesday at 1PM. My boss has kindly given me
the vacation time necessary to be there, so any other Vanagon folks
coming, we should park together. I think Chuck would like that. Bud
said he was in Iowa Falls, so I'm pretty sure he'll be there too.
With heavy heart.
