Hi Larry.

We, that is mostlymy wife the amazing cook, uses the simple Coleman two burner propane to create anything from Mexican to Indian to Tunisian anywhere. We have the accessory hose which lets us run it off a half-sized re-fillable bottle which fits in the luggage rack of the Weekender and all is good.

That being said, if she knew there was a 12.000 BTU camp stove available like the Century, we'd have one in a second! :)

The only way to make a domestic gas range simmer rice properly is with a diffuser, available at kitchen stores everywhere. Its just a sheet metal sandwich that raises the pot off the flame .
